Kyrgyzstan is one of my favourite countries in the world.
I am currently editing photos at a cafe in the capital Bishkek (well not anymore if you’re looking at this in the future!) from the World Nomad Games which I have just finished covering as a member of the press.
As I went through the photos I felt the urge to take a look back at older photos I have from the country.
I came to Kyrgyzstan for the first time in 2012 when I was making my way from China to Iran and fell in love with the place.I have since been back 4 times. The hospitality of the people combined with the stunning mountain scenery and roaming horses blows me away every-time.
I have realised though that I have no large photo post about the country, just some World Nomad Games posts from 2014 and 2016 and a brief post or 2 on horse trekking at Song Kul Lake and a visit to Arslanbob.
So as a photographer looking back at all these old photos that largely went unpublished I wanted to show them to you all. Part for memory but mostly to show you how amazing Kyrgyzstan is.
I highly recommend you come to this country and Central Asia as a whole someday, it’s one of my favourite regions I have been to in my 20 years of travel.
This is not just a portrait of the landscape but also of the people of this beautiful place in the world.

And I might as well end with a photo of me and a horse, being Kyrgyzstan 🙂
I recommend using SafetyWing Travel Insurance for your trip, just in case, it’s best to be prepared.
SHARE IT 🙂

Great photos…..I spent 3 years in Kyrgyzstan from 1995-1997 and thoroughly enjoyed living and working there. Brings back great memories of the land and the people, thanks for sharing.
