The World Nomad Games are without a doubt one of the most photogenic events I have witnessed in over 20 years of travelling, and being a photographer it is absolute heaven.
Around 40 countries come to Kyrgyzstan to compete in traditional nomadic sports through the ages to keep the old traditions alive.
The people are so friendly.
It’s held next to the scenic Issyk – Kul lake with a backdrop of mountains behind.
Enjoy 🙂
World Nomad Games
Here’s a photo of me with some of the nomads 🙂
I recommend using SafetyWing Travel Insurance for your trip, just in case, it’s best to be prepared.
And in a car with some of my blogger and photography friends. We all got press passes for the games.
So great! I’ve recently returned from Kyrgyzstan and sadly couldn’t extend my stay to attending the games. Damn so beautiful. But i’ve seen the sports nevertheless as there was a little festival in Kyzyl-Oi. But I AM jealous 🙂
Kyrgyzstan is such a cool place. There should be the games again in the future so keep an eye out 1-2 years from now 😉
