Amsterdam in winter is one of the most magical times to visit. I lived in Amsterdam for 13 years and winter is one of my favourite seasons there.
In spring, summer, and autumn people gather in the parks to relax and enjoy the outdoor bars and cafes sitting areas, but Amsterdam in winter, with the snow and ice, has its own unique charm.
If you are lucky and it’s cold enough the famous Amsterdam canals freeze over and it’s possible to walk on them, indeed some people go ice-skating on them.
This will show you what Amsterdam in winter is like and the images should be enough to inspire a visit.
