If you need an English book(s) to read while in Thailand, then these English bookstores in Bangkok are the perfect places to find a good book.
English Bookstores in Bangkok
I have been living in Thailand for several years, mostly in the Bangkok are and these are where I go to find English books in Bangkok.
Although there are other bookstores you can visit, these are the main ones I recommend where you can find pretty much any book you’re looking for, or if necessary order a book through them (specifically Kinokuniya for that).
Kinokuniya (Siam Paragon)

Kinokuniya at Siam Paragon is a renowned Japanese bookstore in the centre of the city and is the number one choice I recommend for English bookstores in Bangkok.
It’s located on the third floor of the mall. It’s one of the largest bookstores in the city and carries an impressive selection of books in multiple languages, including Thai, English, Japanese, and Chinese.
Known for its well-organized layout and calm ambience, Kinokuniya offers a broad range of books across genres, from bestsellers to academic titles, art books, and graphic novels.

They also stock a variety of manga, stationery, magazines, and Japanese pop culture items. The store often hosts events, book signings, and other cultural activities, making it a favourite spot for book lovers and tourists alike.
The staff is generally knowledgeable, and there are areas where visitors can browse or read comfortably. Kinokuniya also has an online store for those looking to browse or purchase books with delivery options.

There is also a cosy cafe inside the bookstore where you can enjoy a coffee or tea and sit and read for a while, or work from a laptop, or whatever. The coffee is decent as well!
Website for Kinokuniya, although I would recommend just popping in to browse around in the bookstore anyway, even if they don’t have a specific book you’re looking for as it’s a nice book atmosphere to go to anyway.

Dasa Books
Dasa Books is a well-known independent bookstore in Bangkok, located on Sukhumvit Road, near Soi 26. It’s a favourite destination for book lovers, offering a wide variety of secondhand books in English.
Personally, I love this little bookstore, it has lots of books to choose from and they have a good online search function to see if they have the book(s) you are looking for in the shop. You can also enjoy a nice coffee downstairs in a (very) small seating area. It also has a welcoming and quiet atmosphere, perfect for browsing.
Dasa Books has a vast selection across genres, including fiction, non-fiction, travel, history, art, and children’s books, making it a great place for expats, tourists, and locals alike.
The store is cosy, with shelves packed from floor to ceiling, offering books at competitive prices. While the majority of their inventory consists of used books, they are in excellent condition, and the turnover of stock is regular, meaning there’s always something new to discover.
In addition to books, Dasa Books occasionally offers book-related events and promotions. It is highly recommended for those looking for unique reads or for a more personalized bookstore experience in the heart of Bangkok.
Sidenote: Dasa Books does not allow photography inside their store; hence, there are no pictures here to show what it looks like. I belive this is because it is a popular bookstore and too many vloggers/bloggers were coming in filming around, and its too small a place to be doing that in, so perfectly understandable.
You can check what books they have in the Dasa Books search area.
Asia Books
Asia Books has multiple locations in Bangkok, including a branch in the central Siam area. It offers a diverse selection of English-language books, particularly in categories like travel, self-help, business, and fiction. Asia Books also specializes in books related to Thailand and Southeast Asia.
This is another good choice for finding English books in Bangkok, although I still highly recommend going to Kinokuniya first as they have much more selection.
Bangkok
So if you need some English books to read in Bangkok/Thailand, these are the places to go to, and be sure to try a coffee/tea while in Kinokuniya if that’s where you end up going.
Enjoy your book browsing!
