Bruges is easily the quaintest city in Belgium you can visit and these are some of the best things to do in Bruges when there.
I visited for the weekend and it became one of my favourite small cities in Europe.

Taking a boat around Bruges canals is a great way to see the city and its architecture and get a feel for being on the water.

The canal boat is fun but just walking around the streets gets you up closer to the city vibe and you can see all the things happening around Bruges.
Explore all the treats Bruges has to offer such as all the famed Belgium chocolate shops where you can indulge in treats.

Take a Horse Cart Ride
Taking a horse cart ride in Bruges is also a fun and old way to see the city. They can be found departing mostly from the main square area.

The old Bruges architecture in the evening and at night is one of the best times to see the city.
Beer Tasting in Bruges
Now down to the fun business of beer tasting in Bruges.
Lots of Belgium beer selection to try.
The best way to sample a lot of different beers is to get several in one go and share with friends the different flavours to try.
Brugse Zot is a local beer from Bruges and one of the best you can have there.
Augustijn is another highly recommended.
And of course the Piraat.

Bruges can easily be visited from Brussels or other cities in the area. I came down from Amsterdam for the weekend in Belgium and spent 2 days in Bruges exploring the city and indulging in the beer.
It makes for a good few days in one of the best cities in Europe.
