The past 2 months saw me travelling London, Iceland, Edinburgh, Svalbard (in the Arctic), and Amsterdam. Naturally I got plenty of photographs from these highly photogenic places, many of which were shared on my Instagram account.

I spent 2 weeks in London, mostly to enjoy walking around and seeing how the city had changed from my time spent there partying as a youth. I thoroughly enjoyed taking in the old parts and grabbing tasty street food at the markets. I also spent some time playing poker at night, a game that I like for the skill involved and social atmosphere.

After London I went to Iceland for a week and rented cars to drive around the countryside, while at night part-taking in the legendary nightlife.

Then almost a week in Edinburgh soaking up it’s old medieval charms and history. One of the funnest things too do there is take a ghost tour!

Then to the coldest place I have ever been, Svalbard in the Arctic (with a 2 day stop in Oslo en-route). Time there was spent meeting the locals, enjoying some beers down the pubs, and getting out into nature dog-sledding and ice caving. I don’t use the word ‘magical’ much, but it certainly was.

Then down to Amsterdam where I used to live, where at the time of this post I currently am. I’m just hanging out meeting friends and going for dinners and drinks. I love it in Amsterdam. It also gives me time to think where I may want to go next.

Any recommendations for future travel destinations?

This post begins in timeline order starting with London in early January. I must admit I didn’t get around to doing as much on Instagram as I would have liked, partly due to not having a sim card while out and about in some of the countries.

Just a quick fact I will give too you before you check out the pictures. Did you know that food photos are the most shared images on social media? Well if you didn’t, now you do!

All photos were taken on my LG G3 smartphone.  Naturally being taken on a smartphone the images are not as good enlarged compared too being seen on a phone, especially the photos taken in darker conditions. This is not to show quality, but to show the journey.
