Street art is one of the best things to discover when visiting new cities and towns around the world, in my opinion. In fact it’s a passion of mine to search them out, and that’s why once a week I want to start to show some that I have seen, a few at a time, and also ones that others have sent in.

Even when you live in the same place for a long time the street art will change over time with new pieces being done. There’s always something new to be found in a vibrant street art scene.

The pieces of art add colour and character to a place, where it may otherwise just be another boring area.

Street Art

Reykjavik in Iceland took me by surprise when it comes to street art. Amongst the ice of winter, images such as this are sketched.

The black and white match the gloomy Icelandic winter. They are set near the docks.

Not surprisingly with this being a bicycle themed piece of art, it’s in the bike capital of the world, Amsterdam.

Sent in from Samantha, a friend there.

Minimal lighting at night add extra character to this piece from Lisbon in Portugal.

Set in a housing estate in the centre of Berlin.

In the centre of Kiev there is a lot of cool street art to be seen, from smaller pieces to massive murals. I’m currently in Kiev and there will be a lot more to come in the future.

I just love the simple dark moodiness of this. At Teufelsberg in Berlin, a street art paradise where many international artists go.

This lips one is in Isla Mujeres in Mexico. The clever use of the pipe as the cigarette and the bright colour of the lips made this one really stand out.

A friend of mine Magda sent this to me.

If you have any good quality street art images you would like to share then you can email me with the image, your first name, and where you took the photo to:   and I will show them.
